Aloha & Mahalo! Hawaiian-Themed Fundraising Dinner Success!

Updated: Oct 7

Last weekend, our community gathered for an unforgettable evening in support of Chapel On Wheels. With beautiful leis swaying and aloha shirts all around, our Hawaiian-themed fundraising dinner was a resounding success!

From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted with leis and a tour of our Chapel On Wheels mobile classroom. The tantalizing scent of traditional Hawaiian cuisine filled the air as attendees savored delicious dishes like Kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, and mac & cheese, expertly prepared by Gabe and Mina, who generously donated their time and talents.

Throughout the evening, guests:

  • bid on auction items,

  • were informed by featured speakers about current events,

  • listened to live worship music performed by Julie Fullerton,

  • watched traditional Hawaiian dance performed by Audience of One - Keanaina 'O Ke Akua, a Hawaiian Christian dance ministry

  • joyfully cried to testimonies by Chapel On Wheels alumni about how CoW had impacted their lives,

  • admired the testimonies of current and former CoW teachers, and

  • prayerfully considered the appeal by our Executive Director, Alicia Helwig

By the end of the night, our hearts were overflowing with gratitude as supporters opened their hearts and checkbooks in generous acts of financial support.

First and foremost, thank you to our LORD whose faithfulness never ceases to amaze. It is His Way, Truth and Life, which we strive to share with the children in our community through Released Time Christian Education of Orange.

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers of Chapel On Wheels, whose tireless dedication reminded us why 70 years of faithful ministry was and is possible.

And finally, we couldn't continue to operate as a ministry without each and every one of you! Mahalo to everyone who contributed to the success of our Hawaiian Night Fundraiser. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of public school children, sharing with them the love of Jesus in a nurturing and supportive environment.

A hui hou (until we meet again)!
